Meaning nuances: connotation vs denotation, synonyms, antonyms, homophones
Word relationships: collocations, idioms, collocational patterns
Word formation & spelling families (‑sede/‑ceed/‑cede)
Lesson 3 – Spoken English (Weeks 12‑15)
Consonant clusters & individual consonant sounds
Pure vowels & diphthongs with progressive drills
Syllable division, stress, emphatic stress, rhythm & intonation
Lesson 4 – Comprehension Passages (Weeks 16‑19)
Guided reading on health, technology, environment, folklore, military life, drought, etc.
Skills: skimming, scanning, inference, contextual meaning, author’s attitude, implied meaning
Critical‑thinking and evaluative questions
Lesson 5 – Writing (Weeks 20‑26)
Functional texts: formal, informal & semi‑formal letters; speeches; articles; summaries; note‑making
Essays: expository, argumentative, narrative
Creative genres: drama, poetry, free writing
Debate and toast preparations

Integrated Revision & Assessment (Weeks 27‑30)
