Course Focus:
Analysis of African & global literary texts through drama, prose, and poetry

Core Texts & Skills Developed:

  1. Drama Studies

    • The Marriage of Anansewa (African drama)

    • Look Back in Anger (Modern European drama)
      Skills: Character analysis, cultural themes, dramatic techniques

  2. Prose Fiction

    • To Kill a Mockingbird (American novel)

    • Unexpected Joy at Dawn (African novel)
      Skills: Plot structure, social commentary, narrative devices

  3. Poetry

    • African poets (Senghor, Osundare)

    • Global poets (Angelou, Eliot, Donne)
      Skills: Poetic devices, thematic interpretation, comparative analysis

Learning Outcomes:

Note: Covers 80% of WAEC/NECO literature syllabus with African emphasis. Includes 15+ poems and 3 full texts.
