SSS2 Maths Quiz 17.2 – Sketching graphs of straight lines

Construct a parallelogram PQRS in which |PQ| = 70mm, |QR| = 45mm and angle PQR = 65 degrees. Construct the bisectors of angles P and Q to meet at point T. Construct the perpendicular from T to PQ and measure its length.

Construct triangle XYZ in which |XY| = 6.5 cm, |YZ| = |XZ| = 8.2 cm. Through Z, construct a line parallel to XY. Construct side XP perpendicular to the line constructed earlier, meeting it at P. Measure |XP|.

Construct Triangle DEF with sides 5, 7, 8 cm. Bisect all 3 angles of Triangle DEF. The bisectors should meet in one point. Call this G. Construct the perpendicular to side GH from G to side EF. Draw a circle with radius |GH| and center G. Does this circle do anything special? Measure the radius of the circle.

Construct a triangle ABC such that |AB| = 7 cm, |BC| = 9 cm, and ∠ABC = 45°. Construct the perpendicular bisector of BC to meet AB at D. Measure |BD| and |AD|.

Construct a square PQRS of side 6 cm. Construct the diagonals of the square to meet at O. With center O and radius 3.5 cm, draw a circle. What do you notice about this circle and the square?
